Miss Singapore loses crown after stealing credit cards

A beauty queen has relinquished her crown and the chance to compete in the Miss World competition after it emerged that she stole seven credit cards to go on a £3,500 spending spree.
Ris Low, 19, crowned Miss Singapore World 2009 earlier this year, took the cards last year while working at a medical clinic and bought lingerie, jewellery and telephones.
She was convicted of the offences in May and sentenced to two years’ probation.
